Electrical Crossarm

Material:

Traditional wood has certain insulation properties but is easily affected by the environment. Steel (galvanized and stainless steel) has high strength and durability and is also the most commonly used material at present.

Function:

Ensure that insulators and hardware, support conductors and lightning conductors, and keep them at a certain safe distance as required. Install line equipment such as switchgear, lightning arresters, etc. Provide a stable support platform for the conductor to avoid short circuit and other faults caused by contact with the ground or other objects. Maintain the electrical insulation performance of the line to prevent phase-to-phase short circuit and discharge to the ground. Distribute the load and evenly distribute the load caused by natural factors such as the weight of the conductor, wind, ice and snow borne by the overhead line to the pole tower.

Type:

Straight Cross Arms: This is the most common type with a simple horizontal structure used to support insulators and conductors.
V-shaped Cross Arms: With a V-shaped structure, it provides better conductor support, especially suitable for areas with strong winds or long spans.
Horizontal V Cross Arms: With a horizontal V-shaped structure, it provides higher mechanical strength and lower wind resistance, and is commonly used in high-voltage transmission lines and substations.
Tangent Cross Arm: Used in the straight sections of transmission and distribution lines, it provides conductor support and ensures proper spacing and stability.
Angle Cross Arms: Designed to support the point where the conductor changes direction, it can have a variety of configurations depending on the deflection angle.
