The installation steps of the insulation piercing connector are as follows:
1. Determine the branch position: determine the position of the branch line on the main cable, and strip the outer sheath of the cable at the specified position, keeping the cable core and insulation layer intact.
2. Insert the branch line: insert the branch line directly into the hole with the "branch line" logo printed on the connector.
3. Place the main line: place the main cable into the main cable groove of the connector.
4. Install the connector: push the wire clamp core assembly of the connector from the left end of the right shell, so that the wire groove of the right shell and the cable groove on the right side of the wire clamp core assembly are located on both sides of the main cable.
5. Place another cable: place another cable (branch cable) in the cable groove on the left side of the wire clamp core assembly.
6. Assemble the shell: clamp the left shell outside the right shell, so that the wire groove of the left shell and the cable groove on the left side of the wire clamp core assembly are located on both sides of the branch cable.
7. Clamping the cable: Use the pressure clamping tool to drive the right housing and the left housing to move horizontally closer until the main cable and the branch cable are firmly and evenly clamped by the two sets of crimping grooves and cable grooves respectively.
8. Puncture the insulation layer: When the relative crimping grooves and cable grooves are close to each other, the two puncture tips of each metal guide wire pierce the insulation layer of the main cable and the branch cable respectively and contact the metal conductor in the cable, thereby connecting the main cable and the branch cable.
9. Locking the housing: Finally, the left housing and the right housing are automatically locked by the guide check mechanism between the two, and the installation is completed.
It should be noted that during the installation process, the cable should be placed accurately so that the puncture blade can accurately pierce the insulation layer and contact the conductor. At the same time, the use of the installation tool should be carried out in accordance with the correct operation method to ensure the quality and reliability of the installation.
