Materials of disc suspension insulators

Common materials for disc suspension insulators:

1. Glass insulators are made of annealed or tempered glass and are used in power transmission lines.

2. Ceramic insulators are important due to their high dielectric constant and resistivity and are widely used in power transmission and distribution networks.

3. Composite insulators are made of fiber reinforced plastic and silicone rubber or EPDM on the outside to resist weather hazards. These insulators are low cost and lightweight and are also suitable for polluted environments.

4. Polymer insulator materials include fiber glass rods and epoxy polymers.

5. Polypropylene Due to its excellent electrical properties and recyclability, polypropylene-based composites are considered to be environmentally friendly next-generation insulation materials.

6. Polyethylene In some non-cross-linked high-voltage DC insulation materials, materials such as high-density polyethylene are mixed.

These materials are widely used in the manufacture of disc suspension insulators to ensure the safe and stable operation of high-voltage transmission lines due to their excellent insulation properties, mechanical strength and resistance to environmental erosion.
